Hosted by Aberconwy Classical Guitar Club

 

Aberconwy Classical Guitar Club will be hosting The Federation of Guitar Societies Wales, North West and Midlands ensemble day at the Alive Church Prestatyn, North Wales on the 22nd of June 2019 from 10am to 4pm.

 

The cost per person is £10 including refreshments and light lunch.

 

Attending clubs can prepare up to three ensemble pieces to perform in front of other clubs.

 

Each club player is invited to take part in performing three or four large ensemble pieces.

 

The large ensemble music will be sent out soon after a club has paid its registration fee.

Raymond Burley

Raymond Burley is one of Britain’s most experienced guitarists. As a soloist, he has

toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, North and South America and the Far

East. He has performed and recorded with many of England’s finest orchestras

including the English Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonia and the BBC Symphony

Orchestra.

 

He has premiered works by composers that include Stephen Dodgson,

Bernard Stevens, Reginald Smith Brindle, John Duarte, James Patten, Gilbert Biberian

and Dudley Moore. He has performed and recorded in duo with guitarists Alice Artzt,

John Mills, Gordon Giltrap, Gregg Nestor, Clive Carroll, John Feeley, John Etheridge and

Giorgio Mirto; other partners include actress Dame Peggy Ashcroft, harpsichordist

Gilbert Rowland, mezzo-soprano Jacqueline Fox and keyboard player Rick Wakeman.

 

Raymond Burley has given masterclasses and directed guitar festivals in the UK,

Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Seattle, San Francisco, Salt Lake City,

Washington DC, New York, Princeton, Kowloon, Dublin, Bonn, Bremen and Lima. He

has numerous recordings to his credit and publications with d’OZ (Canada), Durand

(France), Schott and Corda (UK), PWM (Poland).
